The lifetime of the tool and dies increase, less forming power is necessary. These are tools for injection moulding for the production of lids for PET bottles. The tools are made of hardened steel. The task of smoothing and polishing the surfaces and recesses (grooves). Especially, the grooves are a big problem. The goal is a roughness less than 0.2 µm.
